Mirrored Silence

Mirrored Silence

Artist’s Statement: D J Wilson, LRPS

A gemsbok lowers its head to drink, its long, straight horns mirrored in still water. In arid landscapes, water is both refuge and risk, and such moments are brief.

The image captures a pause in the constant negotiation between endurance and vulnerability that defines life in dry country.
