Edge of Opportunity
Artist’s Statement: D J Wilson, LRPS
At Walvis Bay, Namibia, a lone jackal walks the shoreline past a resting seal colony, a quiet figure at the edge of abundance.
The distance between predator and prey is measured not only in metres but in timing, caution, and chance. The image, which won a Jury’s Award at the New Horizons International Salon (Iceland), captures a moment of watchful patience along a coastline where survival often hinges on opportunity.
