Artist’s Statement: D J Wilson, LRPS

Two hours past midnight a rhinoceros stands at the water’s edge under darkness, its massive form mirrored perfectly in still water.

The reflection doubles the sense of weight and quiet authority, turning a simple drink into a moment of almost sculptural stillness. The photograph explores the balance between mass and silence in the nocturnal wild and won a Gold Medal at the Moments in Focus International Salon (Serbia) in 2025.
